Teenager Arrested After Leading Officers on Chase in Stolen Car

On December 22, 2019, a teenager was arrested after refusing
to stop for officers while driving a stolen car.
At 2:00 pm, Officer Auttika Taing saw a stolen Kia Forte in
the 800 block of Ohio Avenue. The car
had been reported stolen shortly after 6:00 am.
Officer Taing attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop when the driver
sped off. Officer Taing pursued the
vehicle until it stopped on Route 30 into Absecon. The driver and three passengers were taken
into custody with assistance from Officers Maria Borsani, Martina Martin, and
K9 Officer Amir Hughes with his partner Ghost.
The three passengers were released into the custody of their
parents. The driver was criminally charged.
ARRESTED: A
17-year-old male from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Receiving
stolen property and motor vehicle summons.
The male was released to his parent with a future court date.
