Man Arrested and Charged with Three Robberies and a Shooting

A Pleasantville man was arrested and charged in three
separate robberies and the shooting of two men.
On November 30, 2019 at 10:04 am, patrol officers responded
to the Bank of America located in the 2900 block of Atlantic Avenue for a
report of a robbery. A man entered the
bank and handed the bank teller a note demanding money and indicated in the
note that he had a gun. The suspect fled
the bank with a large amount of cash. A
surveillance photograph and description of the suspect was provided to officers
searching the area.
At 10:50 am, Officer Christopher Inman located the suspect,
Edwin Ruiz-Rosa, at Morris and Pacific Avenue.
Ruiz-Rosa had changed his clothes, but Officer Inman recognized him from
the photo. Ruiz-Rosa was taken into
custody and found in possession of a large quantity of money and four grams of
cocaine.
During the investigation, detectives of the department’s
Street Crimes Unit and Violent Crimes Unit linked Ruiz-Rosa to two recent armed
robberies and a shooting that injured two males.
On November 25 and 26, an armed robbery occurred at a convenience
store located in the 2400 and 2500 block of Atlantic Avenue respectively. The clerk of each store was robbed at
gunpoint and the suspect fled with money from the cash register.
On November 27, two males were shot in the 100 block of north
Texas Avenue. One man sustained a graze
wound and the other bruising after the fired round struck his wallet. Both were transported to the AtlantiCare
Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life threatening injuries. An accomplice, Henry Roman, was also
identified and is wanted for his involvement in the shooting.
ARRESTED: Edwin
Ruiz-Rosa, a 25-year-old man from Pleasantville, NJ.
CHARGES: Three counts
each of robbery and theft, four counts each of unlawful possession of a weapon and
possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of aggravated
assault, and a single count of criminal mischief, terroristic threats, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and
conspiracy.
Ruiz-Rosa was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice
Facility.
WANTED: Henry Roman,
37-year-old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Two counts of
aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for
an unlawful purpose, and conspiracy.
