Surveillance Center Personnel Aid in Catching Burglar
For Immediate Release:
November 19, 2019
On November 18, 2019, a man was arrested after being seen on
camera by our Surveillance Center personnel pulling on car door handles.
At 1:22 am, patrol officers responded to beach block of
Delancey Place after Surveillance Center personnel observed the Sean Conyers
checking car doors in the block.
Surveillance personnel provided a description of Conyers to the
responding officers. Officer Sean
McGettigan located Conyers two blocks away on Bartram Avenue. Conyers was placed in custody for an active
arrest warrant.
While searching Conyers, Officer McGettigan found a wallet,
keys, and identification for another man in Conyers’ jacket pocket. Officer McGettigan was familiar with the man
who works at a local business. The man
was located and advised Officer McGettigan that his vehicle had been
burglarized earlier in the morning on the beach block of Providence Avenue. Surveillance Center personnel reviewed camera
footage for the block and located Conyers entering the vehicle.
Residents and visitors are reminded to lock their car doors
when exiting and leaving their vehicle.
This will reduce the number of vehicle burglaries as most individuals
are checking for the unlocked car to enter.
ARRESTED: Sean Conyers,
a 30-year-old man from Villas, NJ.
CHARGES: Burglary,
theft, and contempt of court.
Conyers was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
