For Immediate Release:  September 9, 2019

On September 6, 2019, a handgun was recovered and four juveniles were arrested after they failed to pull over during a motor vehicle stop.

At 6:49 pm, Sergeant Henry White attempted to stop a motor vehicle after receiving information that the driver did not have a license.  Sergeant White activated his emergency lights and the vehicle sped off.  For safety considerations, Sergeant White turned his lights off and followed the vehicle allowing for other officers to come into the area.  As more officers arrived, the vehicle finally pulled over in the 200 block of Albany Avenue.   

The four occupants, two 14-year-old males and two 16-year-old males, were taken into custody.  The two younger males were each found in possession of marijuana.  One of the older males was found in possession of cocaine.  A loaded handgun was found inside the vehicle.       

ARRESTED:  A 16-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

ARRESTED:   A 16-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS)(cocaine).

ARRESTED:   A 14-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a CDS (marijuana).

ARRESTED:   A 14-year-old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Eluding, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of CDS (marijuana).

All four males were remanded to the Harborfields Detention Facility.
