Two Arrested, Handgun Recovered Following Foot Pursuit

For Immediate Release:  July 30, 2019

 

On July 29, 2019, officers responding to a dispute arrested a man and woman and recovered a loaded handgun.

At 7:14 pm, Officers Troy Grams and Malik Tolbert responded to the 500 block of the Boardwalk for a report of a man pushing a woman.  Surveillance Center personnel were able to quickly locate the couple and directed the officers to their location. 

As the officers approached the couple they asked to speak with them to investigate the report.  Tavon Robertson refused and continued walking before he began to run from the officers.  The officers began to chase Robertson who ran on to the beach.  As he was running, Robertson discarded a loaded handgun from his waistband.  As Officer Grams was approaching Robertson, the woman, Martha Fisher, grabbed on to Grams arm in an attempt to interfere in Robertson’s arrest.  Robertson was apprehended by Officer Tolbert and Fisher was arrested.    

 

ARRESTED:  Tavon Robertson, a 31- year old man from Lancaster, PA.

CHARGES:  Obstruction of justice, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, and tampering with evidence.

Robertson was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

 

ARRESTED:  Martha Fisher, a 27- year old woman from Lancaster, PA.

CHARGES:  Obstruction of justice.

Fisher was released on a summons with a future court date.
