Man Arrested with Gun and Drugs After Fleeing Officers
For Immediate Release: July 13, 2019
On July 12, 2019, a man was arrested after running from officers and being found in possession of a handgun and drugs.
At 12:23 am, patrol officers responded to Indiana and Atlantic Avenues for a report of a man with a handgun and drugs. Officer Scott Sendrick arrived to find the man, Nashid Seymour, walking on Indiana Avenue. Officer Sendrick attempted to stop Seymour who immediately fled on foot. During the pursuit Seymour discarded the backpack which was picked up by Officer Sendrick. Officers Ivaylo Ivanov and Kevin Perez continued the pursuit and apprehended Seymour in the 1700 block of Pacific Avenue.
Inside of a fanny pack around Seymour’s waist, officers recovered a loaded handgun, 77 bags of heroin, and 19.5 grams of marijuana.
ARRESTED: Nashid Seymour, a 24 year old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, resisting arrest, and two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and possession with the intent to distribute CDS.
