4 Car Crash Closes Road, One Arrested for DWI, 2 to Hospital

For Immediate Release:  June 25, 2019

 

On June 25, 2019, a man was arrested for DWI following a multi-vehicle crash that closed down Route 30.

At 8:12 pm, patrol officers responded to Route 30 at the traffic light near Clayton’s Storage for a four-car crash.  Officers arrived to find three vehicles had sustained heavy damage.  One vehicle that was traveling westbound flipped over the center median and landed in the eastbound lane.  A second vehicle, driven by Juan Ortiz-Diaz, was traveling eastbound and ended up in the westbound lane.  A fourth vehicle sustained minor damage. 

The drivers of two vehicles were transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  Ortiz-Diaz was arrested for DWI.  The roadway was closed in both directions for almost two hours while the vehicles were towed and the road was cleaned of debris.

 

ARRESTED:  Juan Ortiz-Diaz, a 31 year old man from Pleasantville, NJ.

CHARGES:  Assault by auto, driving while intoxicated, and numerous motor vehicle summons.

Ortiz-Diaz was released on a summons with a future court date.
