Serious Injury Traffic Crash Investigation 

On Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at approximately 1058 hours, the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to 5059 Colerain Avenue to investigate a serious injury traffic crash.


Mr. Julius McKinney Jr., M/27, was operating a 2007 Dodge Charger south on Colerain Avenue.  Mr. McKinney’s vehicle struck a 2007 Ford Escape which was turning north turn onto Colerain Avenue from Blue Spruce Road.  The Ford Escape was being operated by Ms. Vicki Noe, F/72.  After the initial impact, Mr. McKinney’s vehicle traveled left of the center line striking a 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The Monte Carlo traveling north on Colerain Avenue was being operated by Ms. Lynetta Ritzi, F/65.  The Monte Carlo then struck a 2015 Chevrolet 4500 Duramax, Metro Access bus.  The Metro bus was traveling north on Colerain Avenue and was being operated by Mr. Delrico Collins, M/44.    


Mr. McKinney was not wearing his seatbelt.  He sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash and was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he is in stable condition.  


Mr. David Coffman, front seat passenger in Mr. McKinney’s vehicle was not wearing his seatbelt.  He sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash.  He was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and remains in critical condition.


Ms. Noe was wearing her seatbelt.  She sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.  She was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and remains in serious condition. 


Ms. Ritzi was wearing her seatbelt.  She sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.  She was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she remain in serious condition. 


Mr. Richard Ritzi, M/69, front seat passenger of Ms. Ritzi’s vehicle, was not wearing his seatbelt.  He sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.  He was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where remains in serious condition.


Mr. Delrico Collins was wearing his seatbelt.  He sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.  He was transported by the Cincinnati Fire Department to Mercy West Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  


Excessive speed appears to be a factor in this crash.  


Impairment is not a factor in this crash.
