ACPD Debuts Neighborhood Coordination Unit
For Immediate Release:
May 21, 2019
Today, our newly formed Neighborhood Coordination Unit will
begin further serving our Atlantic City community. The 16 police officers, with almost 200 combined
years of service, are our department’s newest commitment to community-oriented
policing. Twelve of these officers will
be assigned to the 6 wards within the city, and four to our homeless outreach
program.
These officers will be allotted time during their shift to
focus solely on community engagement and follow up. They will be available by cell phone for
non-emergent matters. They will attend
neighborhood and business association meetings.
They will focus on quality of life issues as well as crime trends within
their wards.
We ask that our residents and businesses welcome these
officers, interact with these officers, and provide information to these
officers, so they can provide a service to the neighborhoods that has not been
seen before.
If these officers need to be contacted, please call our
non-emergency phone number at 609-347-5780.
A Communications operator will provide the cell phone numbers for the
ward officers.
