17 Year Old Walks into Medical Center with Gunshot Wound and Drugs

On May 16, 2019, a juvenile male was charged with narcotics
offense after walking into the medical center with a self-inflicted gunshot
wound.
At 9:58 pm, patrol officers on a call for service at the
AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, were alerted that a 17 year
old male had just entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his leg.
During the initial investigation, the juvenile was found in
possession of 79 bags of heroin, 36 bags of cocaine, three grams of marijuana,
and one spent shell casing. The juvenile
was treated and arrested upon his release.
The investigation revealed that it was an accidental self-inflicted
injury.
ARRESTED: A 17 year
old male from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Three counts
of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and two counts of
possession with the intent to distribute CDS.
The juvenile was released to his parent with a future court
date.
The investigation was led by the Violent Crimes Unit.
