For Immediate Release:  May 13, 2019

On May 8, 2019, detectives of the Street Crimes Unit arrested two juvenile males and recovered a handgun and marijuana.

Shortly before 5pm, detectives stopped two juveniles at Dover and Ventnor Avenues.  One juvenile, 14, was placed in custody in reference to an active warrant for his arrest resulting from an investigation into gunshots being fired in April.  The other juvenile, 17, was arrested after being found in possession of a loaded, defaced handgun and 21 grams of marijuana.

ARRESTED:  A 17 year old juvenile male from Ventnor, NJ.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a defaced firearm, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. 

ARRESTED:  A 14 year old juvenile male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. 

Both juveniles were remanded to Harborfields Detention Facility.
