Snowmobile and All-Terrain Vehicle Collide in Pelham, NH
Pelham- At approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 New
Hampshire Fish & Gamer personnel were notified of a crash involving a
snowmobile and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) by Pelham Police Department.
The collision
involved Gordon E. Hedgepeth, 28 of Haverhill, Massachusetts who was operating
an ATV in a private gravel pit located near Route 38 in Pelham. Hedgepeth was
operating at a slow rate of speed, on a straight and flat portion of trail,
when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision. The
other operator was 14 years old, and had previously completed a New Hampshire
Fish and Game Off Highway Recreational Vehicle safety course, was operating a
snowmobile at the time of the collision. Hedgepeth and members of his riding
party called Pelham Police Department immediately after the crash. There was
minor damage to each of the vehicles involved in the collision. Neither
operators sustained any injuries.
NH Fish & Game
would like to remind all riders to slow down and yield to the right for all
oncoming traffic while operating an OHRV or snowmobile.
