MEDIA RELEASE

February 16, 2019

On November 24, 2018, at 1:17 p.m., District Four officers responded to the 1600 block of Anita Place to investigate a report of a person shot.  Responding officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1500 block of California Avenue.  The victim was transported to University Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. 

The victim has been identified as 38 year old Robert Darnell Thomas.  There is no suspect information to release at this time.

***UPDATE***

On February 16, 2019, with assistance from the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Homicide Detectives arrested 25 year old Frank Williams.  Mr. Williams was charged with Murder for the death of Robert Darnell Thomas.  At the time of his arrest, Mr. Williams was being sought for two open warrants, “Weapons Under Disability” and “Possessing a Firearm In A Motor Vehicle”.  Both outstanding warrants for Mr. Williams were unrelated to the murder investigation.
