Investigation Leads to Arrest of Suspect in Stabbing/Robbery

On February 6, 2019, detectives of the Street Crimes Unit
investigating a robbery where the victim was stabbed arrested the man
responsible.
Detectives arrested Laquay Tucker at Kentucky and Atlantic
Avenue, and charged him with various crimes stemming from an armed robbery that
occurred on February 1.
At 12:57 pm, patrol officers responded to the 200 block of
north South Carolina Avenue for a report of a man stabbed. Arriving officers located the victim, a 53
year old man from Mays Landing, NJ suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional
Medical Center, City Division with serious injuries. After stabbing the victim, Tucker stole the
man’s money.
At the time of his arrest, Tucker was found in possession of
a knife, 19 bags of heroin, and seven grams of marijuana.
ARRESTED: Laquay
Tucker, a 41 year old male from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Robbery,
aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for
an unlawful purpose, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous
substance.
Tucker was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
