Man Arrested After Stabbing Two Friends

For Immediate Release:  January 26, 2019

 

On January 24, 2019, a man was arrested after he became intoxicated and stabbed two men during an altercation.

At 11:02 pm, patrol officers responded to a residence in the 2000 block of McKinley Avenue for a report of a knife attack and the suspect was being subdued.  Officers arrived to find two men suffering from stab wounds and Isaac Lowendi being detained.  The three men along with another man were inside a residence.  Lowendi became intoxicated and was was asked to leave the residence, but he refused.  Lowendi started and altercation, pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the victims.  The second victim attempted to intervene, but was stabbed too. 

The men were able to subdue Lowendi and gain control of the knife.  Lowendi was taken into custody.  Both victims were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with non-life threatening injuries.

 

ARRESTED:  Isaac Lowendi, a 42 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Two counts of aggravated assault, and a single count of unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Lowendi was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
