Fatal Injury Traffic Crash Investigation

On Saturday, January 12, 2019 at approximately 0204 hours, the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to 5200 Reading Road to investigate a fatal injury traffic crash.

Mr. D’Angelo Plair, M/29 was operating a 2010 Volkswagen Routan north on Reading Road. Mr. Bryce Degaro, M/20 was operating a 2002 Honda Accord, also north on Reading Road. Mr. Plair rear ended Mr. Degaro which caused Mr. Plair to lose control of his vehicle, veer to the right, go off the roadway and strike a tree.

Mr. Plair and three of his passengers, Mr. Jermane Sanders, M/24, Mr. Quenten Brogden, M/25 and Ms. Meeasia Kyles, F/21 were all transported to University Hospital by Cincinnati Fire Personnel. All sustained non-life threatening injuries and are in good condition. A fifth passenger, Ms. Mary Ellen Harris, F/36 sustained critical injuries as a result of the crash and succumbed to her injuries at University Hospital.

Mr. Degaro was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.

Mr. Plair, Mr. Sanders, Mr. Brogden, Ms. Kyles and Ms. Harris were not wearing their seatbelts.

Excessive speed and impairment appear to be factors in this crash. 

The Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation and any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 513.352.2514.
