Motor Vehicle Accident During Evening Commute
Leads to DUI Arrest
On December 12, 2018 the Pelham Police and Fire
Departments responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Dutton
Road and Leblanc Road.
The first vehicle involved was a black 2018
Toyota Tundra driven by Francis Gorman, age 41, of Dracut, MA. The second vehicle was a white 2005 Ford F150
driven by Joao Aguiar, age 55, of Pelham, NH.
Patrolman Halliday’s investigation determined that Francis was traveling
westbound on Dutton Road. He slowed to make a left turn onto Leblanc Road when
he was rear ended by Joao. Both
operators suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Further investigation revealed that alcohol impairment
was a factor in the collision. Joao was
arrested and charged with two counts of Driving Under the Influence and Aggravated
Driving While Intoxicated. He will be
arraigned at Salem District Court on December 17, 2018 at 8:00am.
