News Release - CVS Robbery
On December 11, 2018 at 11:50 pm, Beavercreek officers responded
to an armed robbery at CVS, 1331 N. Fairfield Rd. Upon arrival, they observed
an SUV exiting the lot from the rear of the business. The SUV then fled
eastbound on Dayton-Xenia Rd. After a
short pursuit, the SUV crashed into a fire hydrant and mailbox on Ranchfield
Dr. The driver and passenger were detained
and the driver, Yusuf Ahmed, was later charged with Complicity to Robbery and
Failure to Comply.
Two other suspects who were inside CVS fled on foot. The
suspects were described as a thin black male wearing a red hat with fur lining,
black jacket, dark pants, and gloves, and a stocky black male wearing a light
colored hat, gray shirt, dark pants, and gloves. A K9 attempted to locate the
suspects but the track was unsuccessful and the suspects remain at
large.
Those two suspects had reportedly entered CVS and walked to the
pharmacy counter, where one of them displayed a handgun. They jumped the
counter and directed the employee to fill a trash bag with bottles of cough syrup.
The suspects fled the store when they heard the police sirens. This case
is still under active investigation and the Beavercreek Police Department is
working with other agencies to attempt to identify the unknown suspects.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to
