Mayor Mike Spano and Police Commissioner Charles Gardner are pleased to announce today's promotion and hiring ceremony which was held in City Hall. Four members of the Yonkers Police Department were promoted and appointed to positions of higher authority and assignments within the Detective Division. Seven new members with prior service credit were hired as Probationary Police Officers; these new members will be assigned to the patrol force in short order after several weeks of local training. The ceremony was held in the historic Ceremonial Courtroom in the presence of family, friends, and peers. Congratulations to all and best wishes on your new assignments!
