PRESS
RELEASE
Two Car Accidents During Morning Commute
The
first occurred on July 5th, 2018, at approximately 8:10am, Pelham
Police and the Pelham Fire Department responded to Bridge St. in the area of
Vassar Dr. for a report of a motor vehicle that had just struck an elderly
female walking. Once emergency personnel were on scene, the road was shut down between
Wellesley Dr. and Vassar Dr.
There
was only one motor vehicle involved at the time of the crash. It was operated
by Noah Boudreault, age 31 of Milford, NH.
Boudreault had been driving northbound on Bridge St. when he briefly
lost sight of the roadway due to the sun. When Boudreault could see more
clearly, he observed a 71 year old female walking. Boudreault realized he was
about to strike the female who was walking on the side of the road and
corrected his vehicle in attempt to avoid a collision. It was then that the
vehicle made contact with the female walker, pushing her to the ground. Boudreault
immediately stopped his vehicle and called 911. Boudreault went to the aid of
the elderly female and remained with her until the ambulance arrived. The
injured female remained conscious and alert while being prepared to be
transported to Southern New Hampshire Regional Hospital with a leg injury.
Boudreault is cooperating fully with police as the crash remains under
investigation. Speed and/or alcohol or drugs do not appear to factors in the
crash.
The
second car crash occurred at approximately 8:42am, Pelham Police and the Pelham
Fire Department responded to the area of 28 Leonard Dr. for a report of a motor
vehicle that had stuck a utility pole.
The
vehicle, operated by Ellen Cooper age 62, was traveling west on Leonard Dr.
with two minor children and two K-9’s in the vehicle. It was when Cooper
approached a turn in the road that one of the unsecured K-9’s jumped into the
front seat. This then caused Cooper to swerve off the roadway and into a tree
before coming to rest by a utility pole. Heavy damage resulted on the vehicle
and no injuries were sustained in the crash. The two minor children were in
proper child restraints at the time of the crash.
Any questions can be directed to Sgt. Glen E.
Chase or Lt. Anne Perriello at (603)635-2411.
