Beavercreek
Police Department Officer James Spicer has received the 2018 Knights of
Columbus Council 7981 Blue Coat Award.
Hired in 1989, Officer Spicer has served the agency as a patrol officer
with credentials including sixteen years as an Officer-in-Charge (OIC) and
eighteen years as an Evidence Technician. As a seasoned officer and OIC, he is committed
to safeguarding the lives and property of Beavercreek’s residents, business
owners and visitors with fairness and integrity. Well-respected by his peers and regarded as a
team player, Officer Spicer is always willing to help and continually portrays
a positive attitude at work and toward the public. He routinely volunteers at
community events, including the annual Parks and Recreation Fishing Derby.
Dedicated
to his family, church, police department and fellow officers, and the community
he serves, Officer Spicer manages to successfully balance his time between all. He has been a member of Trinity Christian
Church in Beavercreek since 2003 and serves on various boards and
committees. He works in the food pantry,
is on the worship team and plays drums for the morning service. He and his wife
have been married for twenty-five years and have two daughters and three
grandchildren. Officer Spicer is very
deserving of the Blue Coat Award, not only because of his strong commitment to

Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church Parish Center on June 16, 2018.
