Members of the Yonkers Police Department Traffic Division and 1st & 2nd Precincts teamed up with colleagues from the New York State Police to conduct traffic enforcement details on Central Park Avenue, Sprain Brook Parkway, and Cross County Parkway this past Saturday in an effort to combat speeding, aggressive / reckless driving, and to enhance the quality of life for residents and other motorists.

As a result of the combined efforts of the Yonkers Police and New York State Police, a total of 71 Vehicle & Traffic Law summonses were issued for speed related violations. Speeds in the range of 60 - 72 MPH were clocked on Central Park Avenue alone.

Speeding and aggressive driving is dangerous - drivers who engage in this behavior put lives at risk; they also disturb the peace and degrade our quality of life. The Yonkers Police Department, New York State Police, and our law enforcement partners stand ready to stop these violators in their tracks.
