Officer Joel Schuler Receives MADD Award of Excellence
The Beavercreek Police
Department is proud to announce that Officer Joel Schuler has received a 2018
Award of Excellence from MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) for his
outstanding efforts to stop impaired driving in 2017. MADD Southwestern Ohio Chapter held its annual
awards luncheon ceremony on March 29, 2018 at the Double Tree Hilton in
Sharonville, Ohio. Officer Schuler was among officers from the southwestern region
of the state honored for their hard work and dedication to making Ohio roadways
safe for travel. They were recognized
not only for their drunk driver arrest records, but also their work with
victims, success of drunken driving convictions, and outstanding commitment to raising
public awareness of the dangers of impaired driving through work with their
department and community organizations.
Officer Schuler has
been in law enforcement since 2010 and a uniformed patrol officer with the
Beavercreek Police Department since January 2017. He has been an aggressive enforcer of the
traffic laws and consistently shows great attention to detail and commitment to
his assignment. Officer Schuler is an
accomplished and proactive officer, dedicated to keeping the roadways of
Beavercreek safe, with an emphasis on OVI arrests, making fifteen OVI arrests
and twenty-nine drug-related arrests in 2017.
He is devoted to his duties and genuinely shows empathy for the victims
he serves daily. Officer Schuler continually strives to better himself so he
can carry out the department’s Mission Statement of enhancing the quality of
life for our citizens while serving and protecting the community. His actions
are a testament to his commitment of professional excellence and we are pleased
to recognize Officer Joel Schuler for a job well done.
