Two Women Arrested After Hit and Run
For Immediate Release:
April 15, 2018
On April 14, 2018, two women were arrested after leaving the
scene of a traffic collision and then assaulting and crashing the car of the
other driver.
At 1:44 pm, patrol officers responded to Rhode Island and
Atlantic Avenues for a report of a traffic collision and the occupants involved
in a physical altercation.
Officer Valmir Loga arrived to find that a vehicle, operated
by Veda Nolasco and passenger Tiffany Williams, had fled the scene before his
arrival. Officer Loga learned that there
was a collision at Rhode Island and Pacific Avenues involving the suspect
vehicle and a second vehicle being driven by the victim, a 35 year old male
from Atlantic City. The victim also had
his one year old child in the vehicle.
After striking the victim’s vehicle, Nolasco sped off. The victim followed and called 911. At Atlantic Avenue, Nolasco and Williams
exited their vehicle and began to physically assault the victim, pulling him
from his vehicle. Both females continued
to assault the victim as he was on the ground.
Nolasco then entered the victim’s vehicle and deliberately crashed it
into a telephone pole. Both females got
back in their vehicle and fled.
Officer Loga was able to obtain information for the suspect vehicle
and broadcast it to officers in the area.
The vehicle was located by Officers Christian Ivanov and Daniel Arra on
the beach block of New Jersey Avenue. A
short time later, Showboat Atlantic City security personnel located Nolasco and
Williams inside their property. They were
detained until officers arrived to take them into custody.
The victim and his child were evaluated on scene by medical
personnel and released.
