Beavercreek Police Department Annual Meeting & Awards
On Wednesday, January 28, 2018, the
Beavercreek Police Department held its annual department meeting, during which Chief
Dennis Evers issued numerous letters of recognition and awards to department
employees honoring their professional excellence throughout the past year.
The following individuals received
Letters of Recognition for their outstanding efforts on various incidents
throughout 2017: Officers Matt Barber,
Mark Brown, Kristopher Brownlee, Brian Burkett, Nick Coltrane, Joel Diaz, David
Durkin, Charmaine Hall, Kenneth Harris, Matt Hickey, Kevin Kovacs, David
Majercak, Cynthia Peffly, Collin Peterson, James Spicer, Jennifer Stephens,
Todd Suchy, and Christopher Unroe; Detectives John Bondy, David Holley, Robert
Lee, and Brad Piasecki; Sergeants Nick Amato, David Darkow, Michael Hummel, and
Shawn Sumner; and Communications Operators Sara DeBorde, Heather Jolly,
Jennifer Kochaney, Lori McIntosh, Chelbie Peters, Yalonda Weber, and Lisa
Wesseler.
Department Commendations were
received by Officers Christopher Beisner and Keith Duncan; Detectives John
Bondy, Adam Kempf and Robert Lee; and Communications Operators Heather Jolly
and Lori McIntosh.
Captain Jeff Fiorita, Sergeant Shawn
Sumner, and Officer Kevin Kovacs were recognized for the milestone achievement
of serving 25 years with the Beavercreek Police Department.
Detective Adam Kempf was awarded
“2017 Officer of the Year” for his exceptional attitude, initiative, professionalism
and commitment to teamwork; Records Clerk Robert Eggleton was recognized as “2017
Civilian Employee of the Year” for his proficiency and dedication to the
agency; and C.O.P.P.s Diana and Ray Blowers were both honored as the “2017
C.O.P.P. of the Year” for their dedication to the department as members of the
volunteer organization Citizens on Preventative Patrol (C.O.P.P.) for the past
ten years.
The following individuals were also
honored by the community in 2017: Officer Joel Diaz received the Knights of
Columbus “Blue Coat” Award; Officer James Burton received an “Award of
Excellence” from MADD; School Resource Officers Mark Brown and Matt Hickey
received a “Greene Optimist Award”; Detective Brad Piasecki received a “Law
Enforcement Officer of the Year Award” from Miami Valley Crimestoppers and was
also named “2017 Top Forensic Examiner” by the United States Secret Service;
and Karen Mahaffey, Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police, was named
“2017 City of Beavercreek Employee of the Year.”
The Beavercreek Police Department
is proud to acknowledge all of these individuals for a job well done. Their actions inspire great confidence in the
agency and their consistent level of achievement towards our Mission Statement
and fundamental goals of professional excellence in service to the community
are to be commended.
