We would like to take a moment and remind our residents that traffic safety is a very important part of what we do here on a daily basis in the Third Precinct.  Members of our Traffic Unit were issuing summonses earlier this morning in the Riverdale Avenue corridor.  Most of the violations were for speed and red light violations.  We would like to remind our residents and those travelling through our city to give yourself some extra time and slow down.  It is simply not worth the risk to increase your speed over the posted limit or travel through a steady red light just to gain a few seconds on your trip.   We will continue to address these issues along with parking violations when observed.  Thank you and stay safe.
