DWI Driver in Custody...Allen, Texas
Today at approximately 2:30 PM a citizen called 911 to report a reckless driver. She had followed the pick up truck for a considerable
distance and observed the vehicle being unable to maintain a single lane. As the citizen followed the truck into Allen a group of citizens
attempted to block the truck/driver with their vehicles. The driver of the truck was able to continue westbound on Bethany Drive. Officers
of the Allen Police Department attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver would not stop.
The truck continued to the intersection of Bethany and US 75 striking three vehicles as it turned south on the US 75 service road.
At the intersection of US 75 and Spring Creek the truck struck a school bus that involved three other vehicles in the area.
As a result of the crash the driver of the truck was removed by officers as the truck caught fire and burned.
The person in custody is currently in the Plano Medical Center in stable condition. As it is still early in the investigation several criminal
charges are pending awaiting the completion of the crash investigations.
