Homicide Unit Investigation
On January 18, 2017, at approximately 5:31 p.m., District
Four officers responded to the 2200 block of Burnet Avenue for a report of a person
shot. Upon arrival, officers located an
adult male, 39 years of age, and his 9 year old daughter suffering from gunshot
wounds. The adult was transported to
University of Cincinnati Medical Center by the Cincinnati Fire Department where
he was treated for his injuries. The child
was transported to Children’s Hospital by the Cincinnati Fire Department where
she succumbed to her injuries. The
female victim has been identified as Alexandrea Thompson, 9 years of age. The father’s identity is not being released
at this time.
***UPDATE***
On January 10,
2018, the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit with assistance from the
Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested and charged Mr. Azuriah Hoskins Jr. (18
years of age) and Mr. Ke’von Smith (19 years of age) with Murder for the death
of Alexandrea Thompson.
“Due to the
hard work and diligence of our investigators, as well as a continuing
cooperative effort with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, this case was brought
to a successful resolution,” stated Eliot K. Isaac, Police Chief.
Investigation
by the Homicide Unit is ongoing.
