Pair Charged With Murder in Death at 48 Marshall St
On Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at 1:11 a.m., City 911 received a call reporting that a person at 48 Marshall Street was being tied up and beaten. Responding Officers found an as yet unidentified male bound and deceased in a first floor apartment. A subject leaving 48 Marshall Street was stopped and detained; another subject fled out the apartment window prior to police arrival.
The subject detained was brought to Police Headquarters for questioning. This subject, DAVID PERRY, a 49-year-old city resident, made admissions that the subject who fled out the apartment window and himself had attempted to rob the unknown male and during the struggle that ensued, this subject died.
The subject that fled out the window was identified as DANIEL BARLETTA, a 19-year-old resident of the first floor apartment at 48 Marshall Street. He was tracked down to New York City and taken into custody by members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police and NYPD.
Both PERRY and BARLETTA are being charged with Murder in the 2nd degree and are being held pending arraignment.
During the course of the investigation City of Poughkeepsie Police were assisted by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office, the NYPD and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
