Attempted Homicide
On Saturday September
2, 2017 at approximately 2 am, the Vineland Police Department Patrol Division
responded to the Axtell Apartment complex (334 Axtell Avenue Vineland, NJ) for
a report of shots being fired. While en route to the scene, additional
information was received that a subject had been shot in the hand and was
currently at apartment #14. Upon the arrival of several patrol units, they located
one juvenile male subject who had been shot in his side at apartment #14. EMS
was immediately notified, responded and after being able to stabilize the
victim, had him flown out to Cooper Medical Center to receive additional
treatment for his injury.
A systematic check
of the area was conducted by patrol personnel with the use of a K9 but they
were unable to locate the accused. Additional information obtained at the scene
revealed two subjects dressed in all black and/or very dark clothing were
involved in the shooting fleeing from the scene on foot.
The investigation
is ongoing and being followed up by the Detective bureau. The Vineland Police
Department is seeking the public’s assistance with any possible information
anyone may have related to this investigation. The Vineland Police Department
