For Immediate Release:  March 16, 2017

The Atlantic City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance is locating two males wanted for separate shootings. 

On February 24, 2017 at 5:23 am, patrol officers responded to the Tropicana Hotel and Casino valet area for the report of gunfire.  A two week investigation conducted by Detective Leah Giercyk and detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit led to charges being filed against Jonathan Lopez.  Lopez, who is not in custody and currently wanted, has been identified as shooting at an unknown male that was entering the lobby, causing exterior damage to the hotel.

WANTED:  Jonathan Lopez, an 18 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

On March 16, 2017, detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit filed charges against Laquea Boggs in connection with a March 9, 2017 shooting in the 300 block of North Virginia Avenue.  The investigation revealed that Boggs, who is not in custody and currently wanted, and an unknown male exchanged gunfire which wounded Quaheim Garner, a 20 year old male from Pleasantville, NJ.  Garner was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for a non-life threatening injury. 

This investigation is ongoing and the Violent Crimes Unit is still seeking to learn the identity of the unknown male that fired a handgun.

WANTED:  Laquea Boggs, a 20 year old male from Pleasantville, NJ.

CHARGES:  Aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
