Decedant: Myriam Roman (83 /F) of Conley Drive, Vineland

On this date, 03/13/2017 at approximately 8:27AM, the Vineland Police Department received a call regarding a motor vehicle crash on the property of 1770 South Lincoln Avenue (Shopping Plaza located by the intersection of South Lincoln Avenue and Dante Avenue).  First responding officers located the decedant, Myriam Roman who had been fatally struck by a Sheppard tour bus.  The bus which was unoccupied at the time of the crash and was driven by Dewey Vasser Jr.  Vasser was beginning to leave the property in an attempt to obtain another bus from the yard as this one was having an unknown mechanical problem.  As Vasser began to leave the property, Roman was struck as she was crossing in front of the bus.  As a result, Roman was struck and succumbed from her injuries.  The tour bus was scheduled to leave Vineland and head to the Philadelphia Flower Show.  The investigation is ongoing and being handled by Officer Fredrick DeMary of the Vineland Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit.
