Male Arrested and Charged with Three Robberies in Lower Chelsea Neighborhood

An Atlantic City man has been charged with committing three
armed robberies in the Lower Chelsea section of the city.
On January 4, 2017, the Atlantic City Police Department
arrested Edgar Moreno Rios who was wanted for armed robbery after an
investigation by detectives and with assistance from the public.
On December 26, 2016, patrol officers responded to the AC
Convenience Store, in the 4000 block of Ventnor Avenue, for a report of an
armed robbery. A surveillance photograph was released to the public asking
for assistance in identifying the individual.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Section have
been actively investigating the robbery and along with responses from the
public, Rios was identified and arrested on Wednesday night. Rios was located and arrested by
Officers Anthony Abrams and Alberto Valles in the 2500 block of Pacific Avenue.
Rios has also been charged in the December 16 armed robbery of Minos Bakery in the 4100 block of Ventnor Avenue and the January
3 armed robbery of Dover Market in the 3900 block of Ventnor
Avenue.
ARRESTED: Edgar
Moreno Rios, a 30 year old male from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Three counts
each of robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon
for an unlawful purpose.
Rios was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
