On Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016 members of the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department’s Neighborhood Recovery Unit and Emergency Service Unit conducted a search warrant at 197 Mill St., Apt. 5A, Poughkeepsie. This search warrant was part of an investigation regarding narcotics distribution at that location, based upon several complaints from community members. 

As a result of the search warrant, officers recovered approximately one ounce of cocaine, over 1.75 pounds of marijuana, and in excess of $4900 in United States Currency.        

Rashmi Ruparelia, 40,  of 197 Mill St., Apt. 5A, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony and criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a class D felony.  

Ruparelia was held at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department pending arraignment in the City of Poughkeepsie Court.
