A truly unique Yonkers experience will take place once again on Friday October 21st at 7:00 p.m. at the PAL on North Broadway.  Toughman 8 will feature a charity boxing contest like no other, pitting members of the Yonkers PD against members of the Yonkers FD in epic matches that will be spoken about for years to come.  The Yonkers PBA and Yonkers Firefighters Local 628 are in the final stages of preparation for this great night out.  Thousands of dollars have been raised by Yonkers Police Officers and Yonkers Firemen throughout the years at many different charity events, but the Toughman bouts are truly legendary.  It's a great rivalry with an even greater purpose.  This year's charities are the Ronald McDonald House of NY, the NYFF Burn Center Foundation, Help our Military Heroes, and the Semper Fi Fund.  Participant fighters will fight three one minute rounds which will be judged by professional boxing judges.  

As we lead up to next Friday, we will be previewing some of the bouts between Yonkers Finest and Yonkers Bravest.   We tip our hats to these fighters who will be putting it all on the line in front of their family members, friends, and co-workers.   We thank them in advance for their efforts which will assist many great charities.  Tickets will be on sale starting this Monday at the PAL building located at 127 North Broadway from 10 am to 4 pm.  Ticket sales end on Thursday 10/20, so do not wait, this event has sold out in the past.   For VIP tickets, call the PBA at 914-377-7371.  

Today we are previewing an exciting match up which will take place between Yonkers Police Officer Kevin Madison and Yonkers Fire Fighter Jamal Epps in the 230 pound weight class.  Police Officer Madison is an active Police Officer assigned to the 3rd Precinct in the southwest section of our city.  Firefighter Epps works at Station 12 on the east side of our city.  This will surely be an exciting heavyweight match up!
