(Palestine, TX) – On Monday, September 26, 2016, Officers with the Palestine Police Department Patrol Division were dispatched to the Motel 6, located in the 1100 block of E. Palestine Ave., in reference to a welfare concern. 

 Once arriving at the location, the Officers located the subject,  later identified as Brian Badgett, 27, of Palestine, and discovered that Badgett had multiple outstanding warrants.  Badgett was arrested for the warrant, and while searching Badgett, Officers located a quantity of methamphetamine and several pieces of paraphernalia on Badgett’s person.

 The Palestine Police Department K-9 Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit were called to the scene to assist with the investigation.  The resulting investigation led to the arrest of a second subject, identified as Latanya Beasley, 46, of Elkhart, TX, as well as the seizure of 22 grams of Methamphetamine

 Both Badgett and Beasley were charged with Manufacture / Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 between 4 grams and 200 grams and received $25,000 bonds.
