     The line of duty death funeral for FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, which is located at 470 Westchester Avenue in the Crestwood section of the City of Yonkers. 

     Thousands of uniform personnel and civilian attendees are expected to attend this funeral service.  Because of this, starting at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, the Crestwood section of Yonkers will be closed to all vehicular traffic EXCEPT for area residents.  Numerous Yonkers Police Officers will be posted in the affected area to assist residents.  There will be restricted access to Scarsdale Road between Underhill Street and Cristfield Street, and all streets in the vicinity of Scarsdale Road and the Bronx River Parkway.  Please see the attached map of the area.  Copies of this map will also be shared with residents on the department’s Citizen Alert notification system and social media platforms.  In addition, copies of this map will be handed out to area residents today by members of the Yonkers Police Department.  The Mayor’s Office will also be making an automated phone call to area residents alerting them to the above restrictions.

     Uniform personnel and civilians traveling to the funeral by personal vehicles are to park at the Empire City Casino parking entrance on Yonkers Avenue (810 Yonkers Avenue).  Starting at 9:00 a.m., shuttle buses will be provided for transportation from the casino parking lot to Scarsdale Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, approximately three blocks from the church. Upon completion of the funeral services, uniform members and civilians are to meet shuttles at Scarsdale Road and Pennsylvania Avenue for return to their vehicles at Empire City Casino.   

     FDNY Companies taking Charter Buses to the funeral are required to have their driver drop them at Scarsdale Road and Pennsylvania Avenue, Yonkers.  Access to the area must be made via Central Park Avenue to Tuckahoe Road. Take Tuckahoe Road east ½ mile and make a left on Parkview Avenue. Continue on Parkview Avenue for ½ mile. Parkview merges in to Scarsdale Road. Continue 1/2 mile to corner of Scarsdale Road and Pennsylvania Avenue.  Buses must then proceed to the designated parking lot at the Empire City Casino, located at 810 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY.   Upon completion of the funeral services, members are to meet shuttles at Scarsdale Road and Pennsylvania Avenue for return to the Casino.  Company Charter buses are to remain at the Empire City Casino.
