On June 11, 2016, at approximately 10:10 p.m., the Cincinnati Fire Department responded for an unconscious female at 2457 Maplewood Avenue inside apartment 1.  With injuries from blunt force trauma apparent the Cincinnati Police were requested to respond.  The victim was transported to University Hospital with non-survivable injuries and the Homicide Unit was notified to investigate.

On June 12, 2016, Homicide Detectives arrested Darrell Scott Jr., a black male born 5/13/1987, charged with Felonious Assault. In the late hours of June 13, 2016, the victim succumbed to her injuries.  On June 14, 2016, Homicide Detectives signed an additional charge of Murder against Darrell Scott Jr.

The victim has been identified as Yelena Landesman, a female white born 9/20/1990.
