Driver #1: Jose Vazquez-Torralba 27 of the 700 block of S. Third Street

 

On this date, January 10, 2016 I was dispatched to the area of Garden Rd and East city line in regards to a motor vehicle crash. I arrived on scene and observed a single vehicle off the road and into the wood line, with a couple of subjects outside the vehicle. 

As I approached the vehicle along with the subjects and was advised that there were no injuries. I attempted to speak with driver #1 who spoke limited English, a subject who was not involved in the collision assisted in translation. Driver #1 explained to the translator that he was heading eastbound on Garden Rd, when he lost control of his vehicle due to the road conditions and slid off the roadway and went into the wooded area.

Driver #1 provided vehicle documentation, but indicated that he did not have a driver’s license. The vehicle was removed from the wooded area, by J and C Auto Sales and once it was on the tow truck it was discovered that the vehicle sustained damage to the driver side rear bumper, and undercarriage.

It should be noted: the roadway was wet due to recent rainfall but I did not observe any puddling or flooding on the roadway. Where the vehicle did come to rest there was a ditch partially filled with water.

Driver #1 was issued summons number 0614-vc-9401 for being an unlicensed driver. He was given a court date for January 26, 2016 at Vineland Municipal Court.

Driver #1: Virginio Pinho 71 of the 500 block of N. 2nd. Street

Driver #2: Fred Laier 68 of the 300 block of W. Butler Ave.

Driver #1 stated as he was traveling west on Butler Ave., Vehicle #2 attempted to make a left turn without using the vehicle’s turn signal therefore causing the collision.

 

Driver #2 stated as he was about to negotiate a left turn into the driveway of 379 W. Butler Ave.  Vehicle #1 collided with the rear of his vehicle.

 

The witness stated he observed when vehicle #2 was negotiating the left turn and also when vehicle #1 which did not appeared to have slowed down colliding with the rear of vehicle #2.

 

Driver #1 had a visible abrasion to the top of his forehead however he refused medical attention. Driver #2 complained of pain to his head and neck and was transported to Inspira Health Network by Vineland EMS.  

 

Vehicle #1 sustained major damage to the front and was towed away by All Tow Towing Service. Vehicle # 2 sustained major damage the rear and was driven into the driveway of 379 W. Butler.

 

Driver #1 was issued summons number 0614-VC-008530 for careless driving

Driver #1: Jeffrey Bryson 22 of Sicklerville NJ

 On this date, January 10, 2016, I was dispatched to the area of Walmart (1070 West Landis Avenue), in regards to a motor vehicle crash.  Police Dispatch advised, the crash was a single vehicle into a tree, with possible injuries. I arrived on scene and observed vehicle #1 into the woods across the street from the business. 

I approached the scene, and learned the driver was on the only occupant in the vehicle and he was currently out of the vehicle.  Driver # 1 indicated he had just pulled out of the Walmart main entrance to travel east on Landis Avenue.  Driver #1 indicated after making the turn onto Landis Avenue, his vehicle began to "fishtail" and went out of control and hopped the curb. Driver #1 indicated after going over the curb, his vehicle stopped after striking a tree. 

Driver #1 indicated he wasn't injured, but wanted to be checked by EMS. Vineland EMS Unit 625 arrived on scene and evaluated driver #1, but he refused medical treatment.

Several people who were on scene, indicated they observed the crash, which appeared as if driver #1's vehicle slipped in the roadway.  Prior to collecting their contact information, they cleared the scene, due to the rainfall and traffic flow.  

Vehicle #1 sustained extensive front end damage and was towed from the scene by Olin's Auto Body.

It should be noted: As vehicle #1 was being loaded onto the tow truck, I noticed approximately 30 feet west from where vehicle # 1 left the roadway, the road was slick, but it didn't appear to be any type of oil spill. 

At this time no summonses were issued and the crash was deemed to be a reportable.

Driver #1: Dennis Gallina 65 of the 800 block of Elmer Road

Driver #2: Adrianna Mendez 23 of the 1000 block of E. Park Ave.

On 01/10/2016 I was dispatched to South Lincoln Avenue and Dante Avenue in regards to a two vehicle collision with reported injuries.  Upon arrival I spoke with Driver #1 who stated he was traveling south in Lincoln Avenue approaching Dante Avenue.  Driver #1 said as he approached the intersection, the vehicle in front of him came to a sudden stop.  Driver #1 started he pulled to the shoulder of the road to avoid colliding with the vehicle in front of him.  Driver #1 advised after he pulled to the shoulder, vehicle #2 suddenly struck his vehicle from the rear.  Driver #1 did not have a complaint of pain as a result of the collision. 

Driver #2 on scene had a complaint of pain and EMS was called to the scene.  Driver #2 declined treatment by EMS and stated the following regarding the collision.  Driver #2 explained she was traveling south on Lincoln Avenue, and was approaching Dante Avenue.  Driver #2 said as she approached Dante Avenue, vehicle #1 and the vehicle in front of vehicle #1 came to a sudden stop at the intersection.  Driver #2 advised vehicle #1 pulled to the shoulder of the roadway to avoiding colliding with the vehicle in front of it.  Driver #2 said she applied the brakes but the vehicle slid due to the roadway being wet, and she could not avoid colliding with vehicle #2. 

Vehicle #1 sustained damage to the rear bumper portion, and was driven from the scene by Driver #1.  Vehicle #2 sustained damage to the entire front bumper portion, and was towed from the scene by J&C Towing. 

No summonses issued

Driver #1: Brianna Smith 25 of the 2000 block of S.W. Boulevard

Driver 1 stated she was traveling south on S Main Rd when an unknown cloth or tarp flew off the vehicle in front of her and landed on her front windshield, obstructing her view. Due to the fact that she could not see, she applied her brakes and attempted to pull off to the side of the roadway. During this time, she struck an unknown object on the west side of the road which caused the passenger side window to break. She could not see anything that she possibly could've struck. Damage to vehicle 1 was on the passenger side area.

I could not locate anything that driver 1 could have possibly struck.

The below incident took place at the intersection in front of 3849 South Delsea Drive (Chic Fila) and when I arrived on location Vineland EMS was tending to Driver #1. 

 

Driver #1 stated she was traveling north on South Delsea Drive approaching the intersection in front of the Chick Fila.  Driver #1 explained as she got closer to the intersection she had mistaken the green left turn arrow for the green light and proceeded through the intersection.  Driver #1 indicted that as she went through the intersection, she struck Vehicle #2. 

Driver #1 complained of pain to the left shoulder, she refused treatment and transport from Vineland EMS. 

Vehicle #1 sustained heavy frontend damage with airbag deployment 

Vehicle #1 was towed by J&C Auto 

 

Driver #2 stated he was making a left turn onto South Delsea Drive when he noticed Vehicle #3 who was to his left, come to a stop in the intersection.  Driver #2 explained he then immediately stopped and as he stopped, Vehicle #1 collided into his driver’s side of the vehicle. 

Driver #2 complained of upper body pain, he refused to have Vineland EMS evaluate him, occupant did not report any injuries 

Vehicle #2 sustained heavy driver’s side damage with multiple airbag deployment 

Vehicle #2 was towed by All-Tow 

 

Driver #3 stated he was making a left turn onto South Delsea drive and he noticed that Vehicle #1 went through the red light.  Driver #3 explained that he immediately stopped his vehicle however Vehicle #2 who was to his right, continued into the intersection and collided with Vehicle #1.  Driver #3 indicated that when the collision occurred, Vehicle #1 scratched his front bumper. 

Driver #3 did not report any injuries 

Vehicle #3 sustained scratches to the front bumper 

 

Driver #1 was issued summons #0614-VC-008835 for 39:4-81 (Failure to observe signal)

Driver #1: Amber Macfarland 22 of Malaga NJ

On this date, 10 January 2016, I was dispatched to the area of 808 E Oxford for a report of a collision with unknown injuries.   

 

Upon arrival I was met by the occupants of the vehicle (Driver 1/infant) and was informed no injuries were received during the collision and no medical attention was needed.  

 

Vehicle 1 was in the opposite lane of travel and collided with a curb then fence. Driver 1 stated she recently had work done on her suspension and believed that was a factor in the collision. Driver 1 stated she was driving West on Oxford street when an unknown mechanical issue caused her to crash into the curb and then the fence.  

 

Vehicle 1 received heavy damage to the front end and front axle. Driver 1 had East Side towing respond and take possession of the vehicle due to it being inoperable.  

 

Contact was made with Security Guard Justin Quintana (Corning) and he was informed of the damage to the company’s property (lawn/fence). Quintana informed me he would inform his supervisors.

Driver #1: Tracy Dewitt 31 of Atlantic City NJ

Driver #2: Sarah Ewan 33 of the 3000 block of N. East Ave.

On January 11, 2016 I was dispatched to the area of South Fourth Street and West Elmer Street in regards to a two car motor vehicle crash. As I approached the intersection I observed a Nissan Murano (NJ REG: F24EUJ) was resting on the Southeast corner, with air bags deployed and damage to the driver's side front fender. I then observed the second vehicle a white Chevy van (NJ REG: ZTW24C) was facing East on Elmer St, with front end damage.

As I approached Driver #2 first, she stated that she was driving East on Elmer St, and as she approached the intersection of Fourth St, she said the second vehicle ran the stop sign and struck her vehicle.

I went to speak with Driver #1, but since she is a care giver for a patient, their protocol is to call for an Ambulance. She indicated that there was no injuries however, Driver #1 and the occupant were transported to Inspira by Vineland EMS as a precaution.

Vehicle #1 sustained moderate damage to the front end of the vehicle and was towed by Calderos. Vehicle #2 sustained extensive damage to the driver side fender and front end, and was towed by Williams Towing.

I then responded to Inspira where I spoke with driver #1. She indicated that she was traveling South on Fourth St, when she was looking into her rear view mirror to check on her client. She indicated she was unaware of the area and didn't realize she ran the stop sign. She indicated she attempted to swerve onto E Elmer Street to avoid the crash and oncoming traffic. 

No summonses were issued at this time.

Driver #1: Breanna Boardley 24 of Newfield NJ

Driver #2: Octavio Medina 67 of the 400 block of N.W. Boulevard



Driver#1 stated that she was sitting at then stop sign west bound at N. West Ave and Laurel St. She said while parked at the stop sign, she was struck in the rear by vehicle#2. Driver#1 stated she was parked at the stop sign because she was waiting for someone who was riding on a sanitation truck. She said she had parked here because when he finishes work in the back of a sanitation truck, she picks him up on that corner. I did observe that vehicle#1 was parked at the stop sign about 5 feet south of the north road edge of Laurel St. and approximately 5 feet east of the east curb line of N. West Ave. 

Conversation with driver#2 was translated by Ptl. K. Santiago who responded to the scene. Driver#2 stated that he stopped at the stop sign behind vehicle#1. He said he observed a trash truck pull up to the intersection and a male subject exited. Driver#2 said vehicle#1 suddenly backed into the front of his car. He said he believes driver#1 decided to suddenly park and did not see his car behind her.

Investigation at the scene revealed that vehicle#2 was in the original position of impact. Vehicle#1 had moved prior to my arrival. Both vehicles were still parked in the middle of the roadway at the stop sign. Vehicle#1 sustained minor damage to the rear bumper. Vehicle#2 sustained moderate damage to the left front bumper caused by the tow hitch on vehicle#1.

Both drivers stated they and their occupants were not injured from the accident. Due to the position of the vehicles on the roadway and the statement of both drivers, driver#1 was issued a summons (VC009182) for Obstructing Traffic. Driver#2 was written a subpoena. Driver#1 was advised that if she feels driver#2 was at fault, she can sign a complaint against him at the Vineland Court Clerk Office. I also advised driver#2 that if he feels driver#1 was backing improperly, he can sign a complaint against her at the Vineland Court Clerk Office.

Driver 1 stated she was backing out of the driveway of 163 Hadsell Ave, when she backed into vehicle 2 which was parked on the roadway. She stated she did not see vehicle 2 was parked in the roadway. There was no damage noted to vehicle 1. All occupants of vehicle 1 claimed no injuries at this time.

Owner of vehicle 2 was also present when I arrived on scene and advised that there was no one in the vehicle when the collision occurred. Damage to vehicle 2 was noted on the passenger side door area.

No summons were issued.

Driver #2: Maryam Nassiri 51 of the 1700 block of Magnolia Road

 

Driver #1 stated he was traveling north on South Lincoln Avenue approaching the intersection at Lincoln and East Chestnut Avenue.  Driver #1 explained that as he approached the intersection he applied his breaks to stop the vehicle because the traffic signal was red however, his vehicle did not slow down.  Driver #1 indicated he utilized his emergency break and attempted to put his vehicle in park however it did not stop or slow his vehicle.  Driver #1 stated this caused his vehicle to go through the red light and collide with Vehicle #2. Vineland EMS responded due to Driver #1’s complaint of head pain, Driver #1 refused treatment and transport. 

Vehicle #1 sustained heavy damage to the rear driver’s side. 

Vehicle #1 was towed by Speedy’s 

 

Driver #2 stated she was traveling west on East Chestnut Avenue through the green traffic light when Vehicle #1 ran the red light on Lincoln Avenue causing an unavoidable collision. 

Driver #2 did not report any injuries 

Vehicle #2 sustained heavy front end damage 

Vehicle #2 was towed by Caldero & Sons

Driver #1: Lauren Desiere 58 of the 600 block of Timberbrook Drive

Driver #2: Soli Marrero 38 of Millville NJ

On this date January 12, 2016, I was dispatched to the area of N East Avenue and E Landis Avenue in regards to a motor vehicle crash. Upon my arrival I observed two vehicles facing north on East Avenue, just north of the intersection of E Landis, and Vineland EMS was already on scene. As I met with the drivers of the vehicles, driver #1 stated that driver #2 crossed the intersection and then came to an abrupt stop, causing her to slam on her brakes. She stated that she slammed her brakes on trying to avoid striking the back of her vehicle but she could not.

Driver #2 indicated that when she crossed the intersection of E Landis Avenue headed North on East Avenue, traffic was backed up and she stopped and was then struck from behind. Occupant of Vehicle #2 had a nonspecific complaint of pain, and was transported from the scene to Inspira hospital for further evaluation by Vineland EMS.

Damage to vehicle #1 sustained minor scuffs to the front bumper, and was able to be driven from the scene. Vehicle #2 sustained minor damage to the rear bumper and was able to be driven from the scene.

 

No summons were issued.

Driver #1: Marcos Diaz 46 of the 1200 block of W. Chestnut Ave.

Driver #2: Nicholas Traverso 19 of Bortle Ave.

Driver # 1, stated at the scene, He was at a complete stop in front of the Vineland High School North Building when his vehicle was rear ended by vehicle # 2.

Driver # 2, stated vehicle #1 was at a complete stop when he attempted to pass it on the left.  Driver # 2 stated he then struck the driver's side read end bumper of vehicle # 1 causing damage to vehicle #1 bumper.  


Both drivers and passengers claimed they did not suffer any injuries during the crash.

I observed vehicle # 1 had damaged on the driver's side rear bumper. Vehicle # 2 had brown paint transferred and paint scratches on the front passenger's side front bumper, however driver # 2 stated was old damage. 


Driver # 2 was issued with the following traffic summonses:

   0614-VC-007162, unregistered vehicle, 39:3-4
   0614-VC-007163, Uninsured Motor Vehicle, 39:6b-2
   0614-VC-007164, Careless Driver, 39:4-97

A subpoena to testify was completed and issued to driver # 1.

Driver #2: Jose Jusino 38 of the 400 block of N. East Ave.

Driver #1 stated she was stopped at the traffic light on N Main Rd facing south at the intersection of N Main Rd and E Oak Rd. Driver #1 said she looked up and when she saw the light was green thought Vehicle #2 had begun to move. Driver #1 then struck the rear bumper of Vehicle #2.
    
Driver #2 stated he was stopped at the traffic light on N Main Rd facing south at the intersection of N Main Rd and E Oak Rd. Driver #2 said when the light turned green, Vehicle #1 struck the rear of his vehicle.

Vehicle #1 had two juvenile passengers seated in the rear seats. The juvenile passenger seated in a child restraint seat behind driver #1 had a claim of pain to the rear of her head.

Vehicle #2 had two juvenile passengers, who were seated in the rear seats of Vehicle #2. Both juvenile passengers from Vehicle #2 claimed no Injury. 

Vineland EMS was called to the scene to evaluate the juvenile passengers. 

Vehicle #1 had damage to the front and was towed from the scene by JC towing through driver #1's AAA account. 


Vehicle #2 had damage to the rear bumper and was driver from the scene.

No summonses were issued.

Location: Spring Road and Arrowhead Trail

Driver #1: David Langlois 55 of the 1000 block of Arrowhead Trail

Driver #2: Christian Lopez 26 of the 600 block of S.E. Boulevard

Driver #1 stated he was traveling north on S. Spring Rd and making a left turn onto Arrowhead Trl.  He stated that as he made his left turn, vehicle #2 came out of nowhere and struck the rear of his vehicle.  Driver #1 sated that he never saw vehicle #2.

Driver #2 stated he was traveling south on S. Spring Rd. when vehicle #1 made a left turn in front of him.  He stated that he locked up his brakes and turned his wheel to the left to avoid hitting vehicle #1 but was unable to do so.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.

Vehicle #1 was driven from the scene and vehicle #2 was towed from the scene by Caldero's Towing.

Driver #1 was issued a summons (0614-VC-004295) for Careless Driving (39:4-97) which is believed to have caused the collision.

Driver 1 stated she was traveling S. Lincoln Ave when driver 2 turned in front of her at which time this collision occurred.  Vehicle 1 sustained heavy damage to the front end driver side and was towed from the scene.

Driver 2 stated he was traveling N. Lincoln Ave and stated he didn't see driver 1 while attempted to make hand turn onto S. Brewster Rd. hitting driver 1 at which time this collision occurred. Vehicle 2 sustained heavy damage to the driver side front and was towed from the scene.

Driver 1 was issued the following summons V-111627 for uninsured vehicle.  Driver 2 was issued the following summons V-111628 for unsafe lane change/Failure to maintain.

Driver #2: Evelio Tobar-Peraza 40 of the 600 block of Joyce Lane

On this date January 13, 2016, I was dispatched to the intersection on E Chestnut Avenue and Southeast Blvd for a motor vehicle crash. Officer C. White had arrived on scene first, and indicated that there were no injuries and Vineland EMS was not needed. Upon my arrival I observed a two cars on the Northeast side of the intersection. As I approached vehicle #1 I noticed extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle, with driver side airbags deployed. Driver #1 related that she was driving West on Chestnut Avenue, when she disregarded the Red traffic signal and entered into the intersection making contact with vehicle #2 on the passenger side.

As I approached driver #2 he related that he was driving Northbound on the Boulevard (Eastside) and he had the green light. He indicated that when he entered the intersection, he saw driver #1 run the red light and struck his vehicle, causing extensive damage to the entire passenger side of his vehicle. Vehicle #1 after being struck by vehicle #2 came to rest striking pole # VE82 which had no visible damage. Dispatch was advised to contact electric utility in regards to the pole, which was later inspected.
   
Vehicle #1 was towed from the scene by William's towing. Vehicle #2 was towed from the scene by Caldero's towing.

Driver #1 was issued summons #0614-VC-9403 for 39:4-81 (failure to observe signal) and summons #0614-VC-9404 for 39:6B-2 (No Insurance). Driver #1 was given a mandatory court date set for January 27, 2016 at 0900 hours at the Vineland Municipal Court.

Driver #1 stated she was stopped at the intersection of West Landis Avenue/ South Delsea Drive facing east bound as the traffic signal was red. Driver #1 stated she briefly looked down to the floor of her vehicle and back up to observe the green left turn signal illuminate. Driver #1 was in the straight lane at the time and mistaken the light so she can go straight. Driver #1 stated at that time she rear ended the vehicle (#2) in front of her.  

 

Driver #2 stated she was stopped at the intersection of West Landis Avenue/ South Delsea Drive facing east bound as the traffic signal was red (straight lane). Driver #2 stated while she was stopped at the traffic signal, her vehicle (#2) was rear ended by the vehicle (#1) behind her.  

 

Both drivers did not have a complaint of pain.

 

Vehicle #1 sustained minor damage to the front end.

 

Vehicle #2 sustained moderate damage to the rear bumper.

 

Driver #1 was issued summons #0614-VC-009313 (Careless Driving; 39:4-97). Driver #2 issued a subpoena with this report.

Driver #1 stated she was traveling south bound on N Main Rd. Once she approached the intersection of Maple Ave, Vehicle #2 pulled out into the roadway attempting to make a left turn on N Main Rd. Driver #1 stated she observed Vehicle #2 enter the roadway and she applied her brakes. Vehicle #1 struck Vehicle #2 on the driver side rear taillight causing minor damage. Vehicle #1 had minor damage to her front driver side headlight. Driver #1 had complaint of pain and was transported to IHN by Vineland EMS. Passenger #1 claimed no injuries.

Driver #2 stated he was stopped at the stop sign at N Maple Ave. He stated he looked both ways and believed the roadway was clear to make a left turn on N Main Rd. Once he turned left, he was struck by Vehicle #1 on his driver side rear taillight. Driver #1 claimed no injuries.

 

Driver #2 was issued a summons for careless driving (39:4-97). 0614-VC-007057

 

Point of impact was approximately 25ft east of the west curb edge of N Main Rd and approximately 20ft south of the north curb edge of Maple Ave.

Driver #1 stated he was attempting to make a left turn out of the north side exit of the WAWA parking lot on the corner of W Sherman Ave and S Delsea Dr. Driver #1 said a driver in the east bound travel lane on W Sherman Ave stopped at the light leaving a space for him to make the left turn into the westbound lane. When Driver #1 pulled forward, he was unable to see vehicle #2 due to another vehicle stopped at  the  traffic light, and struck vehicle #2 who was driving west on W Sherman Ave.

Driver #2 stated she was driving west on W Sherman Ave when driver #1 pulled  out of the north entrance of the WAWA on S Delsea Dr and W Sherman Ave. Driver #2 stated vehicle #1 pulled out from behind a vehicle stopped at the traffic light and struck her vehicle.

Driver #1 claimed no complaint of pain/injury.
Driver #2 claimed no complaint of pain/injury.

Vehicle #1 was towed by J C towing through AAA.
Vehicle #2 was left in the parking lot of 2848 W Sherman Ave to be towed by a private tow.

No summons were issued at this time.
