The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is now offering retired law enforcement officers the opportunity to qualify with their firearm. This new program will allow retired law enforcement officers the ability to qualify where they live instead of having to return yearly to qualify with the agency they retired from.

In order to be considered for the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety qualification shoot, retired law enforcement officers will need to contact their agency of origin to determine if our current course meets their requirements.             If our agency’s course does not meet the original agency standard, you will need to provide a copy of their qualification course so it can be proctored. The Grants Pass Department of Public Safety will not be issuing an identification card, those would need to be obtained from the original agency after the retired officer has qualified.

Retired Law Enforcement officers can contact the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety at 101 NW A Street. They will need to bring their current identification card from the original agency so the information can be verified. The first qualification shoot is scheduled for January 23rd, 2016 from 0900-1600 hours. Space is limited, so contact the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety to begin the process. Sign ups will end on January 16th, 2016.
