On 25 December 2015 I responded to the area of Boulevard and Wheat Road for an erratic driver. Dispatch informed the driver had been stopped by another Patrol unit as well as our Street Crimes unit on West Wheat Road. The driver was later identified as Erica C. Macnatt.
We were informed via dispatch the vehicle had been driving in the opposite lane as well as running stop signs.
Upon my arrival the Patrol units had the driver pulled over. Erica provided her documents per our request. Due to Erica's reported driving behavior Officer Maslanich issued the field sobriety test. Prior to beginning the field sobriety test Officer N. Maslanich asked Erica how many drinks she had today which she replied none. Erica stated she was very tired due to lack of sleep. Erica stated her being tired was the reason she was possibly driving erratic as well as striking the mailbox (located at 1418 W. Wheat Road) before she was pulled over. Erica’s vehicle (NJ registration A61FGY) sustained damage to the passenger side view mirror. (Note: Prior to the field sobriety test it was discovered Erica was in possession of CDS. For further information please see report number 2015-74018) Officer N. Maslanich conducted the field sobriety test at which time he informed me Erica had a minor issue with her balance for the “one leg stand” test but passed the others. Officer N. Maslanich also conducted an HGN test on Erica which she passed. It was determined Erica was not intoxicated by alcohol based off of the tests she completed. Based off of Erica's statement of being very tired I issued a summons of reckless driving. Erica was issued summons number 0614-VC-8151. Erica was placed under arrest for the Possession of CDS. The owner of 1418 West Wheat Road was identified as Joe Piccione. Joe was made aware of the damage to his mailbox and was given the information regarding obtaining a copy of the Police report.
