Driver #1: Nashalie Ortiz 18 of Egg Harbor Twp.

Driver #2: Robert Vertolli 75 of the 2000 block of Dahliadel Drive

Driver 1 stated at the scene she was making a left turn onto Landis Ave from the parking lot on the South side of the street. When she pulled out she was struck by vehicle 2 which was also making a left turn from the opposite side of the road. Driver 1 was not injured as a result of the collision. Vehicle 1 sustained damage to the driver’s side front tire and fender area but was able to be driven from the scene.

Driver 2 stated he was pulling out of the Sun Bank on the North side of Landis Ave. making a left turn to go East when he was struck by vehicle 1. He stated he did not see vehicle 1 prior to making entering the roadway. Vehicle 2 sustained damage to the driver side front bumper and was able to be driven from the scene. 

The point of impact was about 250' East of the East edge of Second St and about 25' South of the North edge of Landis Ave.

Driver # 1 stated as he was approaching the intersection of W. Oak Rd and N. Delsea Dr. and while behind vehicle #2, vehicle #2 made a sudden stop causing his vehicle to collide with the rear of vehicle #2.

 

Driver # 2 stated while at the intersection of W. Oak Rd and N. Delsea Dr. and while at a complete stop, waiting for the traffic light to change, vehicle #1 collided with the rear of his vehicle.

 

At the time of my arrival driver #2 complained of pain to his back and neck. Vineland EMS responded at which time driver #2 refused medical treatment.  Driver #1 had no visible sign of injuries and did not complain of pain. He refused medical attention.

 

Vehicle # 1 sustained minor damage to the rear and was driven away. Vehicle # 2 sustained moderate damage to the front and was also driven away.

 

Driver #1 was issued summons number 0614-VC-8526 for careless driving.

Driver #2: Milagros Reyes 55 of the 300 block of N. Orchard Road

On November 7th, 2015 at approximately 6:00pm I was dispatched to 3849 S Delsea Drive for a collision in the rear entrance of the Cumberland Mall (Southwest Boulevard). Prior to my arrival dispatch informed me there were no injuries.

Upon my arrival I met with Driver #1 who informed me he was traveling southbound on Southwest Boulevard approaching the rear east side entrance of the Cumberland Mall. Driver #1 stated he observed Vehicle #2 stopped at the stop sign of the rear east side entrance/exit inching her way onto Southwest Boulevard. Driver #1 stated as he got closer Vehicle #2 pulled out in front of him making a left hand turn onto Southwest Boulevard, causing the collisions.  

I spoke with Driver #2 who informed me she was coming out of the Cumberland Mall and stopped at the stop sign of the  rear east side entrance/exit. Driver #2 stated she was attempting to pull out onto Southwest Boulevard. Driver #2 stated she initially did not see Vehicle #1 approaching and started to make the left hand turn on to Southwest Boulevard. Driver #2 stated as she was turning she noticed Vehicle #1 approaching at a high rate of speed and was unable to make a complete turn, colliding with Vehicle #1.

Vehicle #1 sustained damaged to the front bumper and driver side tire.

Vehicle #2 sustained extensive damage to the rear driver side door and rear panel.

Both vehicles were driven from the scene.

Driver #2: Francesco Zorzi 25 of Minotola NJ

Driver # 1 stated she was stopped at the intersection of East Montrose Street and South Seventh Street, facing east on East Montrose Street. Driver # 1 said she had stopped for the stop sign and then began to cross over South Seventh Street. Driver # 1 said she was struck by vehicle # 2 on the passenger side of her vehicle. Driver # 1 said she failed to look to her right and make sure the roadway was clear. Neither driver # 1 nor her passenger were injured during the collision.

Driver # 2 stated he was traveling north on South Seventh Street, approaching the intersection of East Montrose Street. Driver # 2 said, vehicle # 1 pulled out in front of him. Driver # 1 applied his brakes, but was unable to avoid striking vehicle # 1. Driver # 1 was uninjured during the collision.

Driver # 1 was issued summons # 0614 VC 7251 Failure to Stop 39:4-144 and summons # 0614 VC 7252 Unlicensed Driver 39:3-10.

Driver #1: James Burnett 40 of the 700 block of E. Park Ave.

Driver #1 stated he was traveling northbound of S Delsea Dr towards the intersection of W Walnut Rd. While proceeding northbound on S Delsea Dr, Driver #1 struck a deer that had already been deceased in the roadway.  Driver #1 stated Vehicle #1 suffered minor damage on the undercarriage of the vehicle. Driver #1 stated the Vehicle #1 also began to pull to the left side while he attempted to pull to the side of the road after running over the deceased deer. Driver #1 claimed no injuries and Vehicle #1 was driven from the scene. No summons issued.

Deceased deer was removing from the roadway and the road department was advised on the deer’s location.

Point of Impact was approximately 22ft west of the east curb edge of S Delsea Dr and approximately 115ft north of the south curb edge of W Walnut Rd.

Driver #1 (MonicaWesby) stated she was traveling south bound through the parking lot of Wawa (501 North Delsea Drive). She stopped near the gas pumps to allow on-coming vehicle to pass through the lot. While she was stopped a vehicle traveling east bound through the lot turned in front of her and struck the front driver side of her vehicle.

Driver #2 (Lourdes Flores-Martinez) stated she was traveling through the parking lot when a collision occurred. She did not provide any further information.

Investigation at the scene revealed point of impact to be approximately 65 feet east of the eastern curb edge of North Delsea Drive and approximately 250 feet north of the northern curb edge of West Park Avenue. Point of impact was determined by information obtained at the scene.

THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF PAIN AND/OR INJURY AT THE SCENE FROM ANY INVOLVED PARTY

Vehicle #1 sustained minor damage to the front driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven from the scene by the operator.

Vehicle #2 sustained minor damage to the front driver side of the vehicle. The vehicle was left at the scene until a licensed driver could arrive to remove it. Driver #2 was issued a summons (VC7596) for No Driver’s License (39:3-10b)

Driver #2: Janicesir Farabaugh 35 of the first block of W. Chestnut Ave.

Driver # 1 advised that she was leaving from the property of 23 West Chestnut Avenue, crossing over West Chestnut Avenue, in an attempt to drive onto Holly Hill Terrace.  Driver # 1 stated that she failed to observe vehicle # 2 approaching from the west on West Chestnut Avenue, causing the two vehicles to collide. 

Driver # 2 stated that she was west bound on West Chestnut Avenue, when she observed vehicle # 1 emerge from the driveway of 23 West Chestnut Avenue, attempting to drive onto Holly Hill Terrace.  Driver # 2 stated that she was unable avoid vehicle # 1, causing both cars to collide.  Driver # 2 complained of pain in the head from this crash.  Vineland EMS responded to the scene and transported Driver # 2 to Inspira hospital , 1505 West Sherman Avenue, for her reported injury.

Investigation revealed that Driver # 1 failure to yield right of way to vehicle # 2, was the cause of the crash.  After the initial collision, vehicle # 1 collided with a speed limit sign, which was posted on the east side of Holly Hill Terr.  Driver # 1 was issued summons # 0614 VC 004182 for improper exiting of driveway.  Driver # 2 was issued a subpoena to appear in court for the traffic violation issued against Driver # 1.

Driver #1 stated that he was pulling his vehicle out of the loading docks on the south side of BJ's (3849 S. Delsea Dr.).  He stated he was pulling a large trailer full of tires that had a flat tire.  He stated he was looking in the mirror at the tire to make sure the trailer didn't flip at which time he struck vehicle #2.

John Hickman stated he parked vehicle #2 in the propane area to wait for custom service for propane.  He stated while the vehicle was parked it was struck by vehicle #1.

Vehicle #2 was pulling the following trailer during the collision.

Driver #1 stated he was stopped at the intersection of Landis Ave. and Second St. facing west bound at the red light when he was struck be vehicle #2 in the rear.

Driver #2 stated that as she approached the intersection of Landis Ave. and Second St. she applied her brakes.  She stated her vehicle slid on the wet roadway at which time she struck vehicle #1 in the rear.

Vehicle #1 had no visible damage.  Vehicle #2 sustained damage to the front portion of the vehicle.

Driver #2 was issued the following summons.

A subpoena was issued in regards to the above summons.

Driver #1 stated at the scene she was traveling South on Eastwood Dr and had stopped at the Landis Ave intersection which is controlled by a stop sign. Driver #1 said she observed the roadway was clear and proceeded to make a left turn on Landis Ave when vehicle #2 attempted to pass her on the right and they crashed. Driver #1 said she did not see vehicle #2. Driver #1 was not injured.

Driver #2 stated at the scene he was traveling East on Landis Ave when vehicle #1 suddenly pulled out in front of him and made a left turn on to Landis Ave from Eastwood Dr. Driver #2 said he attempted to take evasive action and steered his vehicle to the right shoulder in an attempt to avoid a crash but was unable to and crashed. Driver #2 was not injured.

No injuries were reported at the scene and no summonses were issued at this time.

Driver#1 stated she was traveling west on West Sherman Ave, when Driver#2 pulled out of the W. Sherman Ave driveway of Wawa (2802 S Delsea Drive), and side swiped her vehicle. Driver#1 said she was unable to avoid the collision. Driver#1's vehicle sustained moderate damage to the entire driver’s side, including the side view mirror which was broken off.

Driver#1 had no complaints of pain or injuries on scene.

Driver#2 stated he was pulling out of the W Sherman Ave driveway of Wawa (2802 S Delsea Dr) and he thought the roadway was clear. Driver#2 said as he entered the roadway he saw Driver#1 traveling west bound on West Sherman Ave. Driver#2 stated he collided with Driver#1.

Driver#1 had minor damage to the front passenger’s side bumper. Driver#1 had no complaints of pain or injuries on scene.

Driver#1 was issued a motor vehicle summons for Improper Entering of a Roadway 39:4-66B, he was given a court date of November 25, 2015 at 09:00am..

Driver#1 stated he was stopped at the traffic signal (red light) in the south bound lane of Delsea Drive at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue when he observed the green left arrow.  Driver#1 thought it was the green light to proceed, so he began to travel south bound when he realized it was only for the turn signal immediately stopping when Driver#2 rear ended his vehicle. 

Driver#2 stated she was stopped behind Driver#1 when she observed Driver#1 proceed south bound when he immediately stopped causing her to rear end his vehicle. Driver#2 stated she thought she had the green light following behind Driver #1.

No reported injuries.  Moderate damage to both vehicles.  No summons issued.

On November 12, 2015 at approximately 4:45PM, I responded to the area of Delsea Drive and Elmer Street, Vineland for a two vehicle collision (Reportable/No Injuries).   

 

Note:  Once determining the point of impact, I had both drivers move their vehicle into the Days Inn parking lot to allow traffic to continue south.   

 

Upon my arrival, I spoke with driver#2 who stated that she was rear ended by driver#1.  Driver#2 stated that she driving south on Delsea Drive near Elmer Street just in front of the Days Inn when she was suddenly rear ended.  Driver#2 declined medical attention.  

 

I then spoke with driver#1 who stated that she was traveling south on Delsea Drive when she looked away from the roadway for a second and when she looked back up, she rear ended driver#2.  Driver#1 also declined medical attention.     

 

Both drivers stated that there was heavy traffic heading south and driver#2’s vehicle showed a small dent in the bumper with several scratches from the front bumper of driver#1’s vehicle.   

 

Driver#1’s vehicle showed new damage to the front license plate of the vehicle.     

 

No Summons were issued.

Driver 1 stated he was stopped on W Chestnut Ave on the west bound lane attempting to make a left turn onto S 3rd Street with his left turn signal on. Driver 1 stated after a vehicle passed he began to proceed turning left; while turning driver 1 stated he could not see driver 2 in time coming from the east bound lane and struck vehicle 2 on the front bumper. Driver 1 had no complaint of pain. Driver 1 passenger had a complaint of pain but refused EMS. Vehicle 1's bumper was dislodged from the vehicle.

Driver 2 stated he was traveling east bound on W Chestnut Ave when vehicle 1 began to onto S 3rd Street from the West bound lane of W Chestnut Ave. Driver 2 stated he could not stop in time and his vehicle struck vehicle 1. Driver 2 had complaints of pain to his back and was transported by EMS to Inspira for evaluation. Vehicle 2 had moderate damage to the front bumper.


Driver 1 was issued a Summons for Improper turning in street (Summons #VC-008384)

On 11/12/2015 I was dispatched to 1110 Maurice River Parkway in regard to a motor vehicle collision involving a vehicle crashing into a fence, driving through the yard and crashing into a pond.

When speaking to the homeowner (Tomas Ruiz) they advised they were inside the house when they heard a loud crash coming from outside of the residence. The homeowner stated when they looked outside they observed a vehicle crashed into the in ground fish pond, which had koi fish in it, located in the center of the yard. The homeowner valued the damages to the property is estimated at $5,000 to repair.

I then spoke to the driver of the vehicle who stated while driving west on West Oak Rd he noticed the road did not go straight anymore. The driver stated he was trying to slow down but was unable to stop the vehicle completely before crashing into the fence at 1110 Maurice River Parkway. The driver stated he then went several more feet into the yard of the above mentioned address before crashing into the fish pond. The driver advised he was not able to see the stop sign at the end of the roadway and also stated his tires on the vehicle did not have enough tread on them which is why he slide through the intersection crashing into the fence. The driver of the vehicle had minor injury to his nose, and Vineland EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the driver, but refused any medical attention. There were no other injuries reported at the scene. The vehicle was towed by South Side Auto Body.

In addition to the unregistered traffic ticket, the driver was issued several other tickets.

Driver #2: Robert Spigelmyer 25 of the 200 block of Laurel Street

Driver #1 stated he stopped at the Stop sign on Almond Rd at the intersection of N Mill Rd.  Driver #1 stated he saw vehicle #2 stop and proceeded through the intersection at which time he was suddenly struck by vehicle #2 in the passenger side rear fender area.

Driver #2 stated he came to a stop on Almond Rd at the intersection of N Mill Rd.  Driver #2 stated there was a vehicle in front of vehicle #1 when he came to the stop.  Driver #2 stated that vehicle proceeded through the intersection at which time he started to and vehicle #1 suddenly followed directly behind the vehicle in front of him.

There were no complaints of pain at the scene.

Vehicle #1 sustained moderate damage to the passenger side rear fender area.  Vehicle #2 had minor damage to the front bumper.

Both drivers were advised of their complaint options with VMC.
