Officers were dispatched to Rite Aid for the report of a shoplifter. A male, later identified as Matthew Perez, had taken diapers worth $32.00 without paying for them. Officer A. Santiago saw a person matching the description given, who was also carrying diapers. This male ran from the area when Officer Santiago attempted to stop him. Officers searched the area and found him hiding in a garage in the 200 block of West Landis Avenue. At the time of his arrest, Perez did not comply with orders given by the arresting officers, resulting in a resisting arrest charge.
