Case#: 29804-2015
Officer: Levari
Driver: Yonatt Reynoso-Rodriguez 20 of the 400 block of N. 8th. Street Vineland, NJ
On 5/25/2015 at approximately 2242hrs, I was on patrol in the area of W Plum Street and N 4th Street. I observed several pieces of debris and pieces of a vehicle (front bumper, grille, and headlight) on the ground on the west side of the intersection of W Plum Street and N 4th Street. After further investigation and analyzing the vehicle parts, it was discovered that a collision occurred involving a dark blue dodge and a utility pole. I was unable to locate the vehicle in the immediate area. The struck utility pole (# HC541/VE6346) did not appear to have any serious damage.
After searching the area and following a trail of leaking vehicle fluids, the vehicle was located at 400 N 8th Street. I made contact with Roberto Reynoso who told me the vehicle belongs to his son, Yonattan Reynoso. Roberto told me his son was not home at this time.
Roberto said he received a call from an unidentified relative, who told Roberto that Yonattan was scared and did not want to speak with him or the police, but assured Roberto that he was not injured. He also said Yonattan said he was driving southbound on 4th Street at a high rate of speed and forgot about the roadway incline near the railroad tracks near S Pear St. After going over the incline, his vehicle bottomed out and his wheels locked up causing him to slide into a utility pole and one way street sign. The evidence at the scene and vehicle supports Yonattan’s explanation.
Yonatta was issued the following summonses with a court date of 6/9/2015:
VC-005819 for Reckless Driving (39:4-96)
VC-005820 for Leaving the Scene of an Accident (39:4-129)
VC-005756 for Failure to Report an Accident (39:4-130)
VC-005757 for Failure to Maintain Lane (39:4-88)
No witnesses were located at the scene.
