DETAILS:

            On May 20th, 2015 at approximately 0025 Hrs.  Officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of 1103 NW Sunset Way.  911 had received a call with an open line.  A female eventually came on the line and stated there was a disturbance with her husband. During the conversation, the 911 operator could hear what sounded like a struggle over the phone.  While still attempting to get information on the location of the incident, what sounded like shots being fired could be heard in the background. There was another 911 call made shortly after, the second caller reported hearing shots being fired from 1103 NW Sunset Way.

As officers arrived on scene, they located a male and female in the residence.  Emergency medical personnel from AMR Ambulance and Grants Pass DPS Fire/Rescue responded into the scene and confirmed both subjects were deceased.  Detectives responded to the scene and, based on information available at the time of this report, it appears the incident was a murder / suicide.  The two deceased subjects lived together at the residence and there were two younger children in the residence at the time of the incident.  The children have been placed with other family members.
