Details: 

At approximately 1431 hours on May 11, 2015, officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to 1634 Cloverlawn Drive for a report of a disorderly conduct involving Mark Peckham. 

As officers were arriving in the area, GPDPS received information Peckham was armed with a firearm and had discharged the firearm outside his residence.  Due to the close proximately of the incident, Fruitdale Elementary was informed of the incident at which time they elected to lockout.  

Before officers arrived on-scene, Peckham left the location on a bicycle.  Officers searched the surrounding area and located Peckham in the 1200 block of Grandview Avenue.  Peckham was contacted and taken into custody without incident. 

Officers continued their investigation at the residence where the involved firearm was recovered.  Several eyewitnesses told GPDPS investigators they watched Peckham shoot his rifle in front of the residence.  Witnesses also disclosed Peckham was following Jennifer Peckham around the outside of the residence while in possession of the firearm.  Jennifer Peckham was contacted, and she told investigators she was fearful Peckham was going to shoot her.  

At the conclusion of the investigation, Peckham was transported to the Josephine County Jail where he was lodged on the listed charges. Anyone with additional information is asked to call the Grants Pass DPS at 541-450-6260.
