At about 0200hrs this morning SHPD was dispatched to an injury accident 14mile and Mound roads. On arrival investigation revealed a semi/tractor trailer was stopped s/b Mound for a red light at 14mile road. As the light turned green and the semi began to move it was rear ended by a passenger vehicle occupied by two subjects, a 30yr old man from Detroit and 26yr old female from Warren. The two were taken to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. Investigation continues to determine if alcohol was a factor.

   The roadway was closed for several hours this morning to complete the on scene portion of the investigation but was opened before morning traffic was affected.
