Hipolito Gonzalez reported his Bluebird credit card was fraudulently used without his authorization for several transactions at Bed Bath & Beyond for $322.93 at a store in Broadway, NY. Several other transactions were attempted at a McDonalds and Bloomingdales unsuccessfully.

The Chic Fil-A restaurant reported that an unknown black male in his thirties attempted to use a fake twenty dollar bill to pay for food he ordered. They told the suspect it was a fake bill and stated that he did not seem surprised. The subject then handed another $20.00 bill to pay for his meal, which after being checked was found to be real.

Joseph Brown and his wife Edith Brown reported incidents of identity theft after a credit check located an unauthorized account with DTE Energy, 12900 Bloom St #1 Hamtramck MI 48212-4176 in Joseph’s name, and another DTE Energy for 8113 Prospect St in Warran MI 48091 and Comcast Royal 10 Sterling Hill Lake Oriom MI in Edith’s name. All of these accounts were opened in August of 2014, and appeared to be current as if someone is making payments. The Browns were entered as victims of identity theft.

Details: On 01/29/2015 an employee involved shoplifting incident was reported at Acme (301 South Main Road). Stephanie Keefe was arrested for shoplifting after she made arrangements with two of her friends to shoplift merchandise from the store. She set aside six cans of crab meat valued at $77.94 in one of the aisles, which the other two subjects concealed while she distracted the manager so the two could leave the store with the merchandise. Keefe was released on a summons complaint pending court.

The above accused was arrested for employee theft after SEARS Asset Protection checked their shipping manifests and discovered that he had been shipping merchandise to his own residence. Various shipments were sent to his own residence between the dates of 12/8/14 and 2/6/15 with no evidence that payment was made and no description of the items that were being shipped. McSham was processed and released on a summons complaint pending court. The following items were determined to have been stolen:

On 2/6/15, a bag of hand tools was reported stolen from the side double doors of a work van while it was parked at BJ’s Wholesale Club. The driver of a the van, Frederick Langlois, was at BJ’s Wholesale repairing a forklift. He stated he initially locked his van, but when he retrieved additional tools from the vehicle, he left it unsecured. He then walked into BJ’s Wholesale and when he returned to the vehicle, he discovered a tool bag was missing from the rear cargo area. Property Stolen: a Black with red trim Husky brand tool bag containing: Husky brand socket set – 3/8” and 1/4” drive; Husky brand screwdriver set; Husky brand ratchet set – standard and metric; Snap-on brand 3/8 drive extensions – 8”, 6”, 3”;
Snap-on brand breaker bar; Husky brand allen key set – standard and metric; Husky brand chisel and punch set; Snap-on brand ballpeen hammer; Husky brand torx screwdriver set; Fluke Multimeter

A burglary was reported at the above location on Friday 2/6/2015. I was dispatched to 776 E. Wheat Rd. for a burglary and theft not in progress. Lindauer stated on 1/24/2015 the wooden door leading into the cellar had been pried open and entry was made into the residence. She also stated that two air conditioning units valued at $1,000.00 had been stolen from the rear of the house near the cellar door. She didn’t initially report it but on 2/5, she discovered the natural gas pipe in the basement that went to the clothes dryer had been tampered with.

On 02/06/2015, Matthew Thesing was arrested and charged with forgery after he was determined to have stolen savings bonds valued at $355.14 from his brother and forged his brother’s name at the Century Savings Bank, 1376 W. Sherman Avenue. Thesing was released on summons complaints for forgery and uttering pending court.
