Driver 1 Cleto Abreu-Abreu age 51 S 7th St

Driver 2 Shyquill Ames W Foundry St  age 19

Driver #1 (Cleto Abreu-Abreu / Vineland Yellow Cab #1-9) stated he was traveling east bound on East Almond Street approaching South Sixth Street. Driver #1 stated he slowed at the stopped sign when he observed Driver #2 approaching south bound on South Sixth Street. Driver #1 stated he believed he was clear so he entered the intersection only to realize the Driver #2 was going through the intersection at the same time. Before he was able to stop, he struck the front passenger side of Driver #2.

Driver #2 (Shyquill Ames) stated he was traveling south bound on South Sixth Street approaching East Almond Street. Driver #2 stated he stopped at the stopped sign before proceeding through the intersection. As he was going through the intersection, he noticed Driver #1 proceeding through the intersection before he was safe to do so. It was then that his vehicle was struck.

Investigation at the scene revealed point of impact to be approximately 15 feet south of the northern curb edge of East Almond Street and approximately 5 feet east of the western curb edge of South Sixth Street. Point of impact was determined by the statements of both involved drivers.

THERE WERE NO COMPLAINTS OF PAIN AND/OR INJURY FROM ANY INVOLVED PARTY

Vehicle #1 sustained minor damage to the front driver side bumper of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven from the scene by the operator.

Vehicle #2 sustained damage to the front passenger side tire of the vehicle. The vehicle was driven from the scene by the operator.

Owner Vehicle 2 Courtney Bernardini

Driver 1 stated he engaged his vehicle into drive and the vehicle accelerated on it's own which propelled his vehicle forward. Driver 1 stated he attempted to stop the vehicle by turning the ignition off which caused his steering wheel to lock causing him to strike a parked vehicle.

After the vehicle struck vehicle 2, the van jumped the curb and came to rest on the lawn of Eye Associates.

Courtney Bernardini was informed of the collision where her vehicle sustained minor to moderate damage. Vehicle 1 was towed from the scene by J and C Towing at the owner request.

Driver 2 Jose Soto age 53 Chestnut Ave

Driver # 1 stated at the scene she was attempting to make a right hand turn onto Florence Avenue from S. East Avenue. She stated while doing so, Vehicle # 2 suddenly made a right hand turn, who was in front of her, and struck the front left portion of her vehicle. I asked Driver # 1 if Vehicle # 2 had his right turn signal on and she said no.

Driver # 2 stated at the scene he was attempting to make a right hand turn onto Florence Avenue from S. East Avenue. He stated while doing so, Vehicle # 1 passed him on his right side so that she could make the right hand turn before him. He did not see her until he struck her vehicle. He also advised me that he has his right turn signal on. I observed minor damage to the right front portion of his vehicle.

There were no witnesses who observed this collision occur.

There were no injuries at the scene. All parties refused EMS.

No summonses were issued at this time.
