Driver #1 stated he was traveling south bound on Pennsylvania Avenue approaching Mays Landing Road when he attempted to stop at the stop sign but, hydroplaned into the intersection of the roads. As Vehicle #1 hydroplaned into the roadway, Vehicle #2 (which was traveling west bound on Mays Landing Road) struck Vehicle #1. Vehicle #2’s front end struck Vehicle #1’s driver side. After the collision, Vehicle #1 continued going straight and struck some bushes and wood posts on the property of 2625 Mays Landing Road. Driver #1 stated, “I was trying to stop but, just skidded.”
Driver #2 stated she was traveling west bound on Mays Landing Road approaching Pennsylvania Avenue when Vehicle #1 was traveling at a high rate of speed going straight through the intersection causing Vehicle #2 to strike Vehicle #1. Vehicle #2’s front end struck Vehicle #1’s driver side. Driver #2 stated, “He never stopped. I don’t know where he thought he was going because you can’t go straight.”
On scene, I observed the final rest of Vehicle #1 on the property of 2625 Mays Landing Road. It appeared as though the vehicle had to be traveling at a high rate of speed to continue on straight as Vehicle #2 struck Vehicle #1 at a right angle and it appeared (tire markings) as though it changed Vehicle #1’s direction only slightly. On the other hand, the collision caused Vehicle #2 to do a 180 degrees.
The property that was damaged on 2625 Mays Landing Road was some plants and wood posts. The homeowner was notified and made aware as she was home during the incident.
Vehicle #1 sustained major damage to the driver side and was towed by Ayala Towing.

Upon arrival at the scene I spoke with the driver (Shamika Thomas) of vehicle#2 who stated she came out from work and found her car damaged. She said she alerted security about her car being struck. She said the security personnel took her to their office where they view the surveillance video. She said the video showed a yellow truck backing into her car. She said while looking at the video, she was approached by the owner of the yellow truck (vehicle#1). She said she told security to call the police. I next spoke with driver#1 stated that he was attempting to back into a parking stall next to vehicle#2. He said while backing, he struck vehicle#2 which was parked. I asked driver#1 where his truck was and he said that he allowed his wife to take the truck so she could drop the kids off at the school. Driver#1 stated the incident occurred this morning at about 5:30AM. I asked driver#1 why he did not call the police this morning when the incident occurred. Driver#1 said after impact with vehicle#1, he left the scene and went home. He said he was brought back by his wife who took the truck back home. I asked driver#1 why would he come to work and then leave after striking a parked car. He said his wife needed to use the truck to take the kids to school. I told driver#1 that I needed to look at his truck and to call his wife to bring it back. A few minutes later vehicle#1 was brought back to the scene by a older female. Driver#1 said his left rear struck the back of vehicle#2. While looking at the left rear of vehicle#1, I could only see a scratch in the paint of the metal bumper. The scratch is on the left rear side of the bumper. Due to driver#1 not calling the police, taking his truck home after the collision, being dropped off by his wife and allowing her to leave with the truck and that the accident occurred at 5:30 AM, I issued driver#2 summonses. Summons#VC003954 was issued for Failure to Report Accident and summons# VC003955 was issued for Leaving The Scene of Accident. Thomas was written a subpoena.
